Comprehensive Healthcare Training

Browncross Healthcare No 1 Limited (BHL1) is a healthcare training organisation. We believe that developing the workforce of today and tomorrow is key to giving our service users the high quality of life they deserve. In addition, the continuous development training assists our staff to develop necessary confidence to do their work well, enjoy their vocation and provide essential services to the community.

We work with directors, doctors, care home managers and registered nurses to provide interactive physical training to our students before they are sent to reputable care homes for their practical placement.

We ensure that the care certificate topics are covered during our class sessions and we introduce our students to leadership training and management within healthcare.

Our healthcare assistant training is attended by various people from all backgrounds, including people without previous healthcare knowledge, people who are returning to work after taking time off, current healthcare staff refreshing their knowledge, staff who are about to be employed in a care home who needs initial training as part of their induction.

We advise our students and staff to embark on career development courses when they finish their initial training and start working in order to ensure they continue to move up the healthcare employment ladder.

Some of the topics covered during our healthcare assistant training are:

  • Introduction to Healthcare practice including Types of Patients’ Needs.
  • Materials and Equipment used in Healthcare settings.
  • Nursing assistant and Patients’ care (Roles and Responsibilities).
  • Infection Control Awareness and Food Hygiene.
  • Medication Awareness including Management of Controlled Drugs.
  • Effective Communication.
  • Consent, Confidentiality and Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults from Abuse.
  • Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS).

I began my one‑week training and five‑day placement in May 2025, gaining hands‑on experience in key areas such as moving and handling, patient care, safeguarding, dementia care, infection control, and basic life support.

After a year with Browncross Healthcare No 1 Ltd, the comprehensive training and refresher  courses have equipped me to work confidently across various care homes each week. I feel fully supported in my role, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see patients happy and comforted by my care.

I’m thankful for the opportunities I’ve had and look forward to progressing further and taking on additional responsibilities in the future.
